TOYPIXDAY: Your Instagram Snaps Will Longer Be Just Your Own (Dec 18)

TOYPIXDAY

Oh dear, Instagram will own your pictures and have the right to use them - commercially or otherwise - come January 16th, 2013. And you need not get a single cent, although I am wholly unsure you will be credited too. The new terms of service states such:
"Some or all of the Service may be supported by advertising revenue. To help us deliver interesting paid or sponsored content or promotions, you agree that a business or other entity may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos (along with any associated metadata), and/or actions you take, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you. If you are under the age of eighteen (18), or under any other applicable age of majority, you represent that at least one of your parents or legal guardians has also agreed to this provision (and the use of your name, likeness, username, and/or photos (along with any associated metadata) on your behalf." (news via Buzzfeed)
And while I am under no delusions that my snaps are worthy of being used by others (no I lie, I have plans for them actually MUAHAHAHAHA) but neither am I willing to open up my pictures to be used like that, IMHO.

Must I drop in my tag in images? Does it even matter, or help an iota? Does that mean the end of my daily TOYPIXDAY, or even other random sundries on Instagram? Although this affects independent artists who post their own works, while folks like me might be showcasing products whose copyright belongs to someone else instead? Oh dear…
